Beetle

Run – hide your black
your shine in grass
be obvious, be seen.

Be scared and take
your fear as flags
attention waving.

But if fear is watchword
in failed camouflage
you lie, beetle, lie.

You take the world
as challenge and hide
only wishing to be found.

Run – hide in ambush,
take fright in waiting
and attack in falling back.

Be scared, then take
the fear of watcher
and throw it back.
