Backgammon

What a universe you are –
opposing measures of chance
in duel and strategy.

A dance luck takes from
point-to-point co-incidence
and an enemy in sway
to all forces such as you.

That way, this way to the clock
and shuffled from arena
to some empty column, Stage Right.

And the dice piled high –
what luck are you
that you smiled on both,
neither and alternate?

Take tumble, create
some sense from it all.
